TEHRAN – Kenya’s new ambassador and Pakistan’s outgoing ambassador held separate meetings with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Sunday.

Kenya’s new ambassador to Iran, Rashed Ali, submitted a copy of his credentials to Mottaki and the two sides expressed their respective countries’ readiness to expand ties in all areas particularly in economy.
Mottaki said it is essential that the two nations hold regular meetings with the aim to promote relations. The minister also said Iran and Kenya should make efforts to implement major economic projects.
Kenya’s new ambassador expressed hope he can prepare the ground for expanding ties between the two states.
In the farewell meeting with outgoing Pakistani ambassador Mohammad Bakhsh Abbasi, Mottaki stressed the need to increase comprehensive ties between the two neighbors and thanked Abassi for his efforts during his tenure to promote bilateral cooperation.
The ambassador also thanked Iran for sending humanitarian aid to Pakistan since massive floods hit the country.
